The 3rd National Conference for Ecosystem Accounting in Germany took place in Siegburg/Bonn from 29-30 November 2023. The meeting, which was attended by almost 40 representatives from various federal authorities (including BMUV, BfN, DESTATIS), non-governmental organisations and the scientific community, was held this year under the theme "Information on ecosystems and their services: Trends in development, institutionalisation and use". The presentations and following discussions focussed on the state of the technical implementation of ecosystem accounting in Germany, actual and potential applications of the results and plans for the future. PhyGeo, which had organised the first two Conferences in 2020 and 2021 in Hannover, was represented by Benjamin Burkhard, who led through the event on the first day and presented the first results of our EU project SELINA on the second day.
