Together with an EU delegation, Benjamin Burkhard from the PhyGeo took part in the Conference. He gave a talk about research within the EU Horizon 2020 projects ESMERALDA, MAIA and We Value Nature on "Mapping and assessing the health of ecosystems and their services in Europe" in the session "Ecosystems'' true value: European efforts to map and account for nature" that was organised by the European Commission. The Conference also aimed at exploring research priorities in future EU research programs under the framework "Destination Europe - Research Opportunities in Europe" as well as ways for implementing the new European „Green Deal“.
