From 20.09. - 22.09.2022, the final meeting of the EU Horizon 2020 collaborative project MAIA - Mapping and Assessment for Integrated ecosystem Accounting took place in Brussels.
Organised at the Instituut voor Natuur en Bosonderzoek (INBO), the meeting was attended by a total of 80 delegates (50 in-person, 30 virtual) to present the methodologies developed under the project, which was running from 2018 - 2022, and their applications in the context of natural capital accounting and ecosystem accounting in the EU Member States. The work took place in the framework of the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2020 and follows the UN System of Environmental Economic Accounting SEEA.
