From 02.10. - 05.10.2023, a project meeting of the EU joint project SELINA coordinated by PhyGeo took place in Madrid. The second thematic workshop with the theme "Advancing solutions" (for mapping, assessment and accounting of ecosystems and their services) had a total of 110 participants (15 of them online) from all 27 EU member states, Israel, Norway, the UK and Switzerland. The PhyGeo delegation consisted of Emily Bank, Joana Seguin, Sabine Lange, Angie Faust, Luke Brander and Benjamin Burkhard. The intensive exchange between project collaborators, representatives of the Spanish Ministry of the Environment and other stakeholders was rounded off with an excursion to the Sierra de Guadarrama’s National Park.
