The PhyGeo (Benjamin Burkhard), together with the Institute of Botany (Jutta Papenbrock) and the Institute of Didactics of Natural Sciences (Jorge Groß), has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ecological Station Mittleres Leinetal (ÖSML, Florian Gade). The aim of the agreement is to intensify co-operation in the natural science and nature conservation education of students and in scientific research and to establish a long-term cooperation. The ÖSML manages Natura 2000 areas in the Hanover region and the northern district of Hildesheim, primarily along the River Leine. However, the ÖSML is also active outside protected areas, e.g. for species of the agricultural landscape such as the field hamster and the dormouse.
