Abstract:
BMBF funding (2025-2029): Research Centre for Social Cohesion - Topic C - Provision of public goods and infrastructures - Work package 6: Distribution and perception of environmental pressures and natural resources and their significance for social cohesion in the context of environmental justice
This work package deals with the influence of natural resources and environmental pressures on social cohesion in the context of socio-ecological justice. The focus is on the spatial distribution of environmental qualities and pressures, participatory processes and the perception of environmental justice and green-blue infrastructure in different regions. In this way, the work package contributes to clarifying the question of topic area C, to what extent infrastructures and public goods have divisive or binding effects under the framework conditions of socio-ecological transformation.

Abstract: GoGreenNext is an EU funded Horizon Europe project with the ambition of supporting cities and regions to achieve their climate targets by implementing novel nature-based approaches. We have 19 partners across the globe including Switzerland, Norway, Canada and the USA. In our pilot areas Cork (Ireland), Klagenfurt (Austria), Malta (Malta) and Päijät- Häme Region (Finland), we will address biodiversity-climate-planetary health challenges by future proofing through evidence-based policy development.
